The course observed is physics, where the software SimReal+ is integrated into the teaching. The study focuses the mathematical part of the course related to differentiation and integration. In my study, I focus on both the lecturer and students taking the course. Masteroppgave i matematikkdidaktikk- Universitetet i Agder 2009 Prosjektet Læringsfellesskap i matematikk (LCM) foregikk i perioden fra januar 2004 til desember 2007. Norges forskningsråd gav støtte til prosjektet under programmet Kunnskap, Utdanning og Læring (KUL). LCM-prosjektet bestod av flere deler. En av delene var en longitudinell studie, som denne oppgaven er en del av. Målet med studien var å få et bilde av elevers forståelse i matematikk og hvordan den utvikler seg gjennom prosjektet. Programmet som er brukt er oppgaven Outbreak fra Bowland Maths. Oppgaven er en del av en ressursbase for lærere som er utviklet i 2008 etter pensumet i den engelske skolen myntet på elever mellom 11 og 14 år. I denne studien ser vi på elevene i en norsk niendeklasse arbeide med oppgaven. Forskningsmetoden som er brukt her er case study design. The main goal of the study has been to illuminate factors that affect pupils working together and whether these factors can be viewed in the context of pair composition based upon student ability. Jeg har lagt spesielt vekt på måten hovedteoremet i kalkulus blir behandlet og hvilke regnemåter som blir benyttet.
